Psychiatric nursing or Mental Health nursing is that the role of nurses to cares for individuals of all ages with psychological state or mental distress, like dementia praecox, manic depressive illness, psychosis, depression or dementia. Psychiatric nursing or mental health nursing is the appointed role of a nursing that has promoting and supporting a person’s recovery and taking care of people of all ages who are suffering from mental illness, depression, bipolar disorder, etc.. The licensed registered nurses who are experts in a specific field are allowed to manage the health conditions of the patients and are responsible to them.
Nursing education is the scientific research consists of the theoretical and practical training provided to nurses to prepare them for their duties as nursing care professionals. It helps to establish a scientific foundation for the nursing care across the lifespan of the individuals—from the control of patients for the duration of illness and healing, to the reduction of risks for disease and disability and to promote healthy living.The specialty of nursing is that the Registered nurses work with individuals, families, groups, and communities, assessing their mental health needs. The PMH nurse develops a nursing diagnosis and plan of care, implements process, and evaluates it for effectiveness. PMH-APRNs assess, diagnose, and treat individuals and families with psychiatric disorders using their full scope of therapeutic skills, including the prescription of medication and administration of psychotherapy.

Mental health problems majorly affect both women and men equally, but some are more common among women. Treatments need to be very sensitive to and reflect gender differences. Some of the environmental factors can also lead to women’s poor mental health such as Abuse, Hormonal changes, malnutrition, domestic violence, stress and gender discrimination.

Pediatric Nursing is the health care of toddlers and children upto the adolescent stage generally in-patient health hospital or in play school. The main role of the pediatric nurses is to administer directly procedures and medicines to children with the authorized nursing care plans. Nurses continually observe the patients by their vital signs and develop the communication skills with children and among family members. The best part of nursing is to be the support to children and their families.
Geriatric nursing is the specialty of nursing pertaining to older adults. It is important to meet the health needs of an aging population. Geriatric nurses are expected to be skilled in patient care, treatment planning, education, mental health, and rehabilitation. They also take on many roles in the workplace. The main responsibility is as a caregiver. They can also be advocates, counselors, and educators for their patients.
Addiction psychiatry is a psychiatric subspecialty relating to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of people suffering from addiction. This may include disorders involving drugs, sex, food, alcohol and other. Addiction psychiatry is an expanding field and currently there is a high demand for abuse experts in both the private and public sector.
Rehabilitation is the process of helping a person who is suffering from mental illness to bring back to the normal life and restore the lost. The most common neuropsychological problems that can be treated by rehabilitation are attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), concussion and spinal cord injury. These neurocognitive techniques can provide treatment for cognitive impairment of varieties of brain diseases. It aims to help people deal with problems, to get their confidence back, and to help people to live as independently as possible. Rehabilitation specialists look at the long-term possibilities for the patient, not just symptoms of the illness, and work closely within a team of other professionals. The rehabilitation team includes psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, and social workers.
Mental Health case reports include the various studies carried out by observing & considering the causes of mental illness and mental disorders. It includes Interventional studies for mental health, Observational studies for mental health, Cross-sectional studies, Descriptive studies and the Analytical studies. In mental health, case reports may focus on the journey of consumer's or life trajectory, providing the clinician with an opportunity to reflect and strengthen their practice. Sharing case reports, stories of hope, resilience, and struggle can provide a template of recovery that is within reach of all consumers.
