Biography
Professor WK Tang was appointed to professor in the Department of Psychiatry, the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2011. His main research areas are Addictions and Neuropsychiatry in Stroke. Professor Tang has published over 100 papers in renowned journals, and has also contributed to the peer review of 40 journals. He has secured over 20 major competitive research grants, including Health and Medical Research Fund, reference number: 02130726. Health and Medical Research Fund, reference number: 01120376. Caroline Ribeiro-Nelson is Head of Free Choices. She is an experienced Psychotherapist, Coach, Consultant and Trainer who has been working in the fields of Psychological Health & Well-Being and Employee Assistance Support for over 20 years. She is passionate about promoting mental health awareness, development of good practice, provision of quality services and the creation of healthy cultures where people can heal and thrive Caroline has held extensive responsibility for the management of counselling services and has worked nationally and internationally with teams serving patients in hospitals, therapeutic units and socio-psychological organisations. Caroline also has significant experience in the recruitment, training and supervision of counselling staff. She possesses extensive practice in executive management, counselling, consultation, training and coaching and has worked for corporate, public, and charitable organisations. For over 8 years Caroline headed operational, clinical and training positions for leading Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) in Germany and the UK, as well as working together with co-operation partners throughout Europe & U.S.A. Her work has involved the review, development and implementation of EAP clinical services, as well as providing management consultation, risk assessment and support for traumatic incidents Caroline holds a Diploma & Advanced Diplomas in Existential Psychotherapy, Diploma in Life Coaching and Diploma in Mindfulness and a Bachelor of Social Science in Psychology & Politics. She is trained in Creative Personal & Professional Development, Intercultural Business Training & Moderation and Stress Management. Caroline is a registered Full Clinical UKCP Member, Member of the Society of Existential Psychotherapists (SEA) and Executive Member of The Employee Assistance Association UK (EAPA UK)
